Grounding

It's been three days already since my arrival. Time flies by you, especially when you're experiencing new things, and beautiful places. For my first week @ Pinnarp Camping I asked Driek to join me and capture my journey. The day we arrived, we we're exhausted from our trip and went to bed really early. This past 2 months I've been extremely busy with moving out of my apartment and planning my sisters wedding. I noticed I lived my life differently as well the last couple of weeks. I really believe in reflection and rest. But a rest day was no option. I wanted to seize every moment and every day with family, friends, parties, dinners, you name it. I also still had a job a week ago.. Conclusion: it was a lot. Although it was really fun it was mostly exhausting.
Nature in Sweden gives you some sort of natural high. On our first day the sun was out and we went cycling (eventually for 6 hours) and Driek captured some amazing shots of the environment. When we returned to Pinnarp we cooked ourselves a meal with groceries we bought in Kisa. A little town approximately 8km from here. (Yes, this is the nearest grocery store )
On day two we went hiking for a little while to capture the near invironment and shoot some yoga pics. I think the pictures are self explaining towards how our day was :). Make sure to follow me on my Instagram to see the work of this talented photographer.
In the afternoon we had a little staged yoga session with extras. Fortunately our Swedish season guests we're prepared to help us out. Which caused a lot of laughter and in the end, that's what it's all about. To end our amazing day, Driek decided it was a good idea to shoot with his drone above the lake. And ofcourse, with me IN THE LAKE. After some struggle.... I put on my bathing suit and I went. Yes, really brave! It was really cold but also amazing to step out of my comfort zone like that.
Assuming cold water immersion activates the body's natural healing powers and promote a sense of health and well-being, I'll be doing that again! (Especially when our sauna arrives, O M G.
Today we drove to a bigger supermarket, located in Åtvidaberg (56 km from Pinnarp). I needed some fresh products to cook with. Tomorrow we'll shoot some dishes which will hopefully show our future retreat guests they will not starve when they visit. :) When trying to lead a healthier lifestyle, studies have shown that food is just as important as exercise. That's why it's so important that the yoga retreat you choose has the proper food to support your wellness journey.
Later at night when I was cooking Driek screamed: Delivery for Pinnarp! Oh my, the sauna is here. I watched it drive by on the truck. I see this sweet, cute little round cabin, I just melted. Adorable. Gooitzen, the owner of Pinnarp immediately jumped on his forklift and went to the beach excited like a little boy. Unfortunately it was way too windy to get the sauna into the water, where it should be floating, eventually.
Sounds like a job for tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow...... since stressing is prohibited in Sweden, we´re not going to worry about it.
Now you´re caught up, I would like to end today with a little note to self: reflection is absolutely necessary to ground.
